So here we go…onto giveaway #2!! Today I have the pleasure of presenting to you a pair of gorgeous earrings from the lovely designer Alex of, House of Leigh. These “Tribe Called Quest” Earrings caught my eye as soon as I went to the site. I LOVE big earrings that make a statement so I just knew these would be perfect for this giveaway.

House of Leigh

2. What’s your hometown and where do you currently reside?

Cincinnati, Ohio

3. How long have you been in business?

House of Leigh will be celebrating its six month anniversary in December!

4. What products/items do you sell?

I started selling handmade jewelry & thrift items. I hope to phase into clothing by the New Year.

5. What was the inspiration to start this company?

House of Leigh was inspired by the people around me telling me to finally put my creative and entrepreneurial skills to use. Plus I was growing bored (I hate that word) with my life and I needed some extra cash :-)

6. How did you come up with the name, “House of Leigh”?

I chose the name House of Leigh for two reasons. The first reason being Leigh is my middle name. The second reason was to give myself a daily reminder of what I wanted my business to become. The traditional fashion house moniker is motivating. Currently, House of Leigh is about handmade jewelry pieces but eventually it will become a lifestyle brand. I wanted to have a name that could be an umbrella for many things, enabling the business to evolve as I do. Think…if Ralph Lauren was a black girl ;-)

7. Who or what do you go to for inspiration?

I gain inspiration from any and everything. Currently, I’m gaining a ton of inspiration from my customers. Collaborating with people to create custom pieces is really fun. People have so many amazing and creative ideas. I love bringing them to life!

8. Where do you see your business in 5 years?

I hope to see continued prosperity and creative growth for House of Leigh in the next five years…and maybe an employee or two. Doing this alone can be daunting.

9. Any words of wisdom or advice to those interested in starting their own business?

Do your research! Never stop being a student of your craft or your field, and network as much as possible!
