So this Sunday, I celebrated my 27th birthday! It’s such a blessing for me to see another year. I’ve done a lot of GREAT things but I just feel like this year, even GREATER things are in store.
As far as celebrating I spent the weekend in Darrius’ hometown, Delaware. He planned a wonderful mini-getaway to Rehoboth Beach. While there, we walked along the boardwalk, shopped, ate, spent time with his parents, shopped some more, and ate some more. LOL! I was able to purchase some fall items for my closet, thanks to some outlet and no-tax shopping, as well as some really gorgeous jewelry.
Sunday, the actual day of my birthday, Darrius and I headed back home to Maryland and my family was at the house waiting to celebrate with me. It was so nice to be with them. Seeing as how this is my first birthday away from home, it was kind of weird waking up to nobody screaming and singing, “Happy Birthday”. Yes, my parents and little sis did that on my birthday every year until I was 26. So when I was able to spend the afternoon with them, that really made my day.
As far as my outfit, I decided to wear my thrifted, silky, tiger blouse. I LOVE this blouse. So much so that although it is missing 2 buttons (and I’m too lazy to sew them back on), I still insist on wearing it. LOL! The shorts were a steal as well. I picked them up form Macy’s on sale for $10.99. I’ve actually been on a hunt for a pair of “appropriate” shorts all summer. So needless to say when I found them, it was a no brainier!
All in all, my weekend was absolutely WONDERFUL! I want to thank everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday; you all really know how to make a girl feel special! To top off my “celebration”, I plan to head to the spa for a massage and pamper myself a little bit today—I can’t wait!
I hope you all have a good day. Be blessed and I’ll be back Wednesday!
