Wardrobe Wednesday – 2014 Grammys Fashion Recap

We’ve made it to another Wardrobe Wednesday! Today, I want to talk Grammys fashion. I remember being in high school and getting so excited about the Grammys. I was always more excited about the performances than what the celebrities were wearing. Now that I’m older, that has changed. I’m not as easily impressed with the “live” performances so, I get more excited about the fashion. This year however, I was excited about the Beyonce and Jay opening number. To be honest, I was not moved by their performance. I found it underwhelming. Nonetheless, I still enjoy their music. But let’s get on with my top Grammys fashion picks!

Tamar Braxton - Michael Costello

Hands down, Ciara looked absolutely gorgeous on the red carpet. Not only was her pregnancy glow very obvious, but her skin appeared flawless. I really enjoyed the sparkly Emilio Pucci gown – perfect fit! Disney kid, and one of my little sisters favorites, Zendaya Coleman went for a more edgy look. Her Emanuel Ungaro dress caught my eye because it was something different. The sheer top and revealing bottom may have pushed the envelope for some but, I thought it was just the right amount of sexy. Tamar Braxton also showed us a sexier and softer side in her red Michael Costello gown. She also gave us classic and elegant, and her hair was styled perfectly. A nice side swept bang and a cut is always a good idea. She won! ;-)

Alicia Keys - Armani Prive

My last three favorite Grammys fashion favorites include Chrissy Teigen, the lovely wife of singer John Legend. I thought her shimmery, floor length Johanna Johnson gown was simply stunning. I love a good dose of shine and shimmer so this look was a no brainier when mentioning my fave looks. Another favorite, Giuliana in Alex Perry. Orange is my favorite color so this dress caught my eye immediately. The fit of the dress and the semi-sheer top were perfect for her frame. Alicia Keys was my final red carpet favorite. I mean between her curves, the plunging neckline, the electric blue color….what’s not to love? She owned her look and exuded much confidence and elegance.

Ciara was gorgeous! I’m not a fan of her music, but her fashion is on point! I’m a Beyonce’ stan but even I must admit I was not impressed with the performance. I kept waiting for her to bring the twins out and bust a crazy choreographed routine but….yeah. Tamar looked great in that red didn’t she?? Really complimented her body.

Dee, I agree 100%! I would have LOVED to see the twins – it would have brought some life to the performance. :-/
