Personal Style Monday | Maxi Skirt Turned Dress

Welcome to another Monday! This weekend I attended 2 events and like any “fashionista”, I felt like I had nothing to wear. I put my styling thinking cap on and dug into my closet and found this maxi skirt. Immediately I knew I could wear it as a dress, thus today’s OOTD title, Maxi Skirt Turned Dress! ¬†ūüėČ I’ve actually worn this skirt on the blog before – check it out.

Maxi Skirt/Dress : Bobeau, Nordstrom Rack (another option) // Necklace: eBay (other options) // Sunnies: Thrifted (Similar)

Since this was the 1st weekend of the summer, I figured this was a perfect outfit to celebrate the occasion. For the 1st event I attended this weekend, I added my rust color Old Navy cardigan. I knew it would keep me warm since the event was held indoors.

When thinking about wearing a (printed) maxi skirt turned dress, here are 3 tips to consider:

1. Wear¬†a (good) strapless bra.¬†I think every woman should invest in a good strapless bra, especially if you plan on wearing dresses like this during the summertime. It’s nothing worse than looking cute and having a droopy bust. :-/

2. Add different accessories.¬†When styling a maxi skirt as a¬†dress, wear different accessories than you did when you wore the item as a skirt. It’ll give the item a refreshing new look!

3. Keep re-styling. A skirt like this can be styled over and over. When you find a good maxi skirt that can be worn as a dress, keep experimenting with different looks. This is a great way to maximize your wardrobe!

First of all your maxi skirt is beautiful. Loving the watercolor-ombre effect. Sort of tribal too. That necklace is a master-piece. I too have worn one of my long skirts as a dress before.

My pleasure linking up Whitney. I linked up a post where I started a series today. I’d love for you to check it out. Thanks.

    Enjoy your week. Ada. =)

I have to say, that looks pretty good being worn as a dress! I actually haven’t experimented much with wearing maxi skirts as dresses before. It looks like it should be pretty fun to see what works! There’s at least two or three I have that might work pretty well.
