Personal Style | Minimal Wardrobe Update + (More) Minimal Wardrobe Options

May 11, 2016 by Whitney 25 Comments

As I continue building my minimal wardrobe, I’m very pleased with my progress. I’ve donated and sold several items that no longer serve a purpose and will continue to do so throughout this process. I’ve created a list of specific items to add to my wardrobe and I’ve started buying only those items. Talk about self-control! I’ve also started wearing what’s left in my closet more often, which helps create even more minimal wardrobe options. Styling the pieces differently has allowed me to become more creative with accessories, shoes, and jewelry.

Outfit - Minimal Wardrobe Options

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of wearing black, gray and other neutrals. Bright colors and prints also have a place in my wardrobe; however, I stick with a neutral color palette for most of my work outfits. The gray tunic and black pants, worn in the outfit above, are two of my favorite items to style. Each piece can easily serve as a base for several outfits.

Remember the ‘quality over quantity’ rule when purchasing items for your wardrobe. #wnjstyle

As I search the web for wardrobe additions, of course, I’ve found several options from Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. Both stores carry multiple brands that fit several plus size body types. They also sell quality clothing. The price doesn’t always dictate the quality of an item, but when shopping at these stores that’s sometimes the case. While rebuilding and adding to my minimal wardrobe, I’m all about quality over quantity. Therefore, I’m willing to spend a little extra to make sure I stick to that rule.

So tell me, what do you think about my latest minimal outfit? Are you a fan of the 3 minimal wardrobe options from Nordstrom? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and until next time, be blessed and stay safe…XO!

Looking good, and I’m definitely feeling your minimal look! I’m a forever fan of gray and black, as well as joggers, I think they’re all a nice blend of classic and edgy. I’m a fan of your Nordstrom’s picks as well!

I love grey and black with neutral but i think i love bright colors a little too much so neutral only gets a chance once in a while lol.

I’ve always been a fan of grey + black. When done nicely, like what you did in this post, it comes off very chic.

Loving this minimalistic style of yours! I too am beginning to embrace a more minimalistic style as well. I’m still in the closet clearing stages and chiiiillle!!! It is definitely a feat. I didn’t realize how many things I had that no longer serve a purpose in my daily life. Thanks for sharing your personal style and hosting the link up as well. I look forward to seeing more inspiration from you 🙂

Love a good minimalist look! I cleaned out my closet the other week, but I’m still having a hard time shopping my closet. Must do better soon!

Love the minimalistic wardrobe and I need to go through my wardrobe and make a list what I am missing. But your outfit is so on point. So classy and fabulous and still so simple.

I have also been decluttering my closet, except not for the same reason you have. I ran out of hangers! HA! I love how you styled this outfit and those flats are so cute!

Yesss to minimalism! My approach was to get rid of everything that didn’t fit the way I wanted and stuff that I really never wore. Now when I look in my closet I love every piece of clothing. Best thing I’ve done in a long time! I’m loving this look!
