Personal Style Monday | Why You Should Invest in Statement Jewelry

Hey there! I hope you’re all doing well. I’m still coming down from a wonderful weekend, so I’m feeling pretty good for a Monday. Side Note: See some of my weekend events here 🙂 Before we get into today’s post, just wanted to give you a heads up about my June giveaway. I’ll be announcing the giveaway items this Wednesday; check out my Instagram for a sneak peek of one of the items! 🙂

Ok, now…let’s get into today’s Personal Style Monday and talk why you should invest in statement jewelry!

1. Stand out. Investing in and wearing statement jewelry is a sure way to stand out and make a fashion statement. There’s nothing wrong with following trends and wanting to emulate some popular styles. But adding a unique statement piece will help set your outfit apart.

2. Add the WOW factor. Do you have a few outfits in our closet you aren’t wearing because you feel like it screams, “Blah”? I guarantee that if you add one statement piece, you’ll see the same outfit in a different light. Adding one piece can instantly take something like a plain denim button up shirt and a pair of slacks to another level.

3. Express your Personal Style. I enjoy wearing statement jewelry because it’s a way for me to express my personal style. On days when I feel like wearing something simple, throwing on a unique thrifted ring or an interesting cuff  with a pair of vintage earrings makes the outfit my own. Little touches like that go a long way when is comes to personal style.

I’m not the only one who loves statement jewelry. Blogger and DIY/vintage extraordinaire Sacramento of Mis Papelicos is also a fan! Her personal style submission from last week caught my eye. Not only do I love her skirt and neon heels, but her DIY (statement) earrings were the perfect finishing touch! A follower of Sacramento for a few years now, I’ve always admired how her style choices and statement pieces speak to her personal style. She enjoys and has fun with fashion; something that’s always refreshing to see. I’m also smitten with her love of vintage clothes; we’re definitely kindred spirits when it comes to all things vintage! 🙂

So tell me, are you a fan of statement jewelry? What are some of your favorite statement pieces to date? Let me know!

I wore my first colorful statement earrings in the post I just shared in the link up. They were actually missing hooks so I had to transfer some hooks from broken earrings (also thrifted) and place them on the ones worn in the post- recycling hooks 🙂 I love your ideas of how statement pieces add more umph to a wardrobe. I like your necklaces. Rachel xo

I saw that when I went to your blog – LOVE them, as well as the entire look. Way to DIY and replace the hooks! 😉

I LOVE statement necklaces. You are so right about adding that extra touch to an outfit. My only thing is that while I appreciate their added impact, I am always on the hunt for less expensive placs to buy them. I am a thrifter, or cheap as my hubby says, but I am not really happy about spending too much on anything. So, if you have any ideas, places, websites etc. that offer these types of pieces at a very reasonable price ($10-20), then I am there! Great post as usual.

I know you LOVE a good statement piece, sis. Gotta check out Bijuju next time I come visit you! I hope I don’t go crazy in there like I did at Roses, lol! 🙂

Since a young girl, I have always been a big fan of collecting estate and vintage jewelry. It is always so well crafted. I especially love it for its uniqueness and history. By far I love statement arm candy the most.

I agree, Glenda. Vintage jewelry is indeed well made and lasts seemingly forever. And you can’t go wrong with good arm candy! 😉

I’m big on statement jewelry, well, mainly statement necklaces. I especially like to add a statement necklace to a casual outfit. Instant oomph.

I absolutely love love love love statement jewelry. It completely changes the look of an outfit and it gives a rich opulent look even though you can find gorgeous statement jewelry very inexpensively.

Interesting topic! You look beautiful in all cases, and your choices are fabulous. I’m growing more cautious about statement pieces these days … I’ve got a drawer full that are starting to look a bit dated now. Great pieces remain great pieces, though, and quality is what makes the difference, I think. I’m not even sure if price is a determinate … there are some very nice pieces that cost very little. I’m liking a more minimal approach these days, at least in theory. There’s a fine line between miminal and plain old dull, and I’m not sure I have the hang of it.
And since I’ve cut my hair, I suddenly crave earrings, but have a hard time chooseing as I get in overload with all the options! Time to take stock, get organized and figure out what I need specifically.
Like with statement necklaces, it’s a challenge!

Thank you, Jan! I agree about the fine line btwn minimal and dull. I’m still trying to figure that out too, lol. Thanks for stopping by!

I’ve been trying so hard to get into the habit of wearing more jewelry. I tend to favor earrings over necklaces but I loved all your choices, especially the ebay one. I love when you can find something cute and for a good deal. Thanks for the inspiration.
