On Trend – Fall Preview

It’s Friday!!! ūüėČ Even though it was a short week for me, I’m still happy that today is Friday. I LOVE weekends! I really love weekends during the Fall. The crisp air, pretty leaves, lattes and hot cocoa…so perfect. But let’s not forget about the Fall Fashion—that’s pretty awesome too, right??!!

This season, I am really excited about boots, leather and dark polish! I also can’t wait to wear my chunky sweaters and over-sized bags. Speaking of bags, I do something every season and I want to know if I’m the only one. I switch my wallet to fit each season. Do you? I actually got this from my mom. She always makes sure she has a wallet for every season and I love that! It’s fashion forward and it’s a little detail that makes difference.

These are just some ideas that I have as far as my Fall wardrobe goes. What’s going to be in your closet this Fall? Are there any colors that you can’t wait to wear? I’m really feeling plum and burgundy. Let me know! Have a great weekend and be blessed!

Valentine’s Day: Casual & Fancy

Welcome to another Friday loves! I hope you’re all ready to relax and enjoy this weekend.

Today’s post is all about Valentine’s Day! I for one am excited for this day to come because not only do I get to spend some time with my babe, but it’s my Mommy’s birthday AND my parents wedding anniversary! WHEW….a lot to celebrate, huh? Well, my parents always go on vacation for a week (my Dad’s birthday is Feb. 12th) so when they get back from Jamaica, we’ll be able to celebrate with them.

In the meantime, checkout my Valentine’s Day looks. If you’re looking to be more casual for a “day date”, a day trip or even a lunch with your girls, look number 1 is for you! It’s comfy, stylish and still has that “love” feeling, thanks to the hearts on the sweater.

Look number 2 is sexy and chic and will definitely make your date do a double take. I love the pink/fuchsia dresses because they’re form fitting and they have ruffles. I decided to go with pink because it’s so soft and girly. The accessories also make a subtle yet noticeable statement. As I’ve said several times on the blog, I LOVE studs and with dresses like this, I can see someone wearing an up-do and the perfect pair.

So tell me, do you have any plans for Valentine’s Day? If so, which look fits those plans? I’d love to hear! I hope you enjoy the weekend. Until next time, be blessed…XO!

Something Blue

I can’t believe the weekend is over! Where does the time go?! Mmmm….anyway, today’s look is a dress by International Concepts. ¬†Macy’s sells a lot of dresses by this company/designer. The dresses are always perfect for my figure and the patterns are so vibrant and flattering.

This is a great look for church, date night, or a special occasion. Because of the dress pattern, I didn’t go too overboard with the¬†jewelry. At least I think I didn’t, haha! ūüėČ I was going for a well put together look and a dash of sexy. Hence the reason I wore my cute ankle booties. I just love the way they look when I style them with shorter dresses. In the past I didn’t like ankle booties¬†because¬†I couldn’t find a pair to fit my fat feet, LOL! Now that I have found these thrifted beauties, I seem to wear them with just about anything!

I hope you all had a great weekend and I hope you were able to take advantage of my 15% off sale over at my Etsy shop, Nic’s Picks. In case you missed it, I’m extending the sale until TONIGHT! You have until midnight to use the code ‘SNOWDAY‘ at checkout to¬†receive¬†15% off your¬†entire¬†purchase. Hurry and click HERE. I’ve added a lot of GREAT items! Be blessed & take care!

Perfect Fit

Happy Monday & welcome to a new week!

Those of you who know me know that I don’t usually wear body hugging or shape showing clothes, lol. However as I’m getting older and learning to appreciate my curvy body more, I’m embracing certain looks. So when I was browsing my mom’s closet ūüėČ I found this AMAZING Karen Kane dress. With her permission, of course, I grabbed it and¬†immediately¬†starting figuring out how to style it!

I decided to wear my side cross necklace that I purchased from eBay and my thrifted black booties. I wanted to go for simple jewelry and shoes since the dress already has such a bold pattern.

Seeing the pics after they were taken made me realize that wearing dresses like this¬†definitely¬†accentuate my figure. I also love the way I feel in the dress, which is the most important factor. I just hope my mom lets me borrow this dress more than just this one time…;-)

Until next time, take care and be blessed!
