So a few Sundays ago, the American Music Awards came on and to be honest, I was only able to watch snippets of it. I was watching the RAVENS game that night! I eventually watched the whole show and while I wasn’t that impressed with the performances, I was impressed with some of the Red Carpet looks. I posted some looks on my Facebook page but I want to just give a quick look at my Top 3 picks, along with my Polyvore inspired looks for less.

My #3 looks is Christina Aguilera. She looked absolutely LOVELY in purple. Her makeup was so natural and pretty. I really liked that fact that she didn’t go overboard with the makeup. She’s such a pretty girl and when she piles on the makeup, it doesn’t do much for her.

For my recreated look, I went with a one shoulder lavender dress and silver accessories and shoes. The whole look is less than $120! What a perfect look for any special occasion. Quick Style Tip: Empire waist dresses do wonders for those of us ladies who have curves. So does jersey material. Everything falls right in place

The next look is my #2 pick, Brandy. Aside from being my favorite female artist, she is also been one to watch on the style scene lately. Her face last night was FLAWLESS and her hair was on point! As a fan of black and gold I immediately fell in love with this look. The different lengths of the dress add drama and while the shoes aren’t my favorite choice for the outfit, I do think their fly! I just wish she would’ve worn something more strappy and pretty.

Of course I decided to recreate Brandy’s look for less with a twist. I went with a skirt, a peplum top and gold sparkle booties. It’s very chic and glam; a perfect look just about any special occasion, just like the last look. I LOVE the booties but I’m a bit ify if I like them with the outfit. Mmmm, what do you think? I see a lot of celebs and TV personalities wearing booties with dresses and skirts these days. So in keeping with the trend, I added them to my look. My Brandy look for less is just under $200. The $40 ring made the look a bit more expensive than I’d like. Quick Style Tip: Find your statement pieces like rings, earrings, and even purses at your local thrift store. This is an almost sure way to find one of a kind pieces.

My final look was my FAVORITE look of the night. Can you guess? If you said Taylor Swift, you’re right! She looks so young and fresh in this look. I’m used to seeing Taylor in long gowns and a red lip. I was SO happy that she stepped it up and put a little sexy in her step She’s a beautiful young lady and if she keeps dressing like this, she just may become my new Red Carpet Crush!

I kept the nude while recreating my Polyvore look, but I went for a dress that in my opinion would definitely flatter a curvy girl like me! The dress is super romantic and sexy and the accessories are perfect! Not too much because the neckline of the dress is already adorned with crystals. Quick Style Tip: When you’re dress has a fancy or embellished neckline, go easy on the accessories. Less is always more in that instance. The best thing about this look? It’s just a little over $150!
