Thrifty Thursday – Nic James in All Black {Sponsored Post – oNeckalce}

Happy Thrifty Thursday! :-) Today’s outfit is one of my favorites because it’s a look you can catch me in at least 2-3 times a week – all black. I do love color, prints and different patterns but there’s nothing like all black. I immediately feel chic when wearing black, and I also use all black ensembles as an excuse to go crazy with accessories and jewelry.

When styling this particular look, I decided to wear my name necklace from oNecklace. Not sure about you but I love name necklaces. I remember wanting one back when I was in middle school. I actually wanted the name earrings too – that was a no go with my Mom, lol. Now that I’m “grown” and can dress myself, lol, you can image how ecstatic I was when I placed an order for my 1st name necklace.

The necklace is great for layering but also looks good when worn alone. I decided to go with Nic James as the name for the necklace. I could’ve gone with several other names/nicknames, but I figured I’d stick with something that had some meaning. Nic, my nickname, is also what everyone used to call my grandfather. He’s one of my biggest inspirations and I carry him with me everyday. So I thought Nic James would not only symbolize my (passion) blog, but it would also remind me of my FaFa (grandfather).

Do you have a name necklace? Did you have one back in the day? If not, what name would you put on your necklace? Let me know! Also, head over and check out the oNecklace site. They have a lot of great items! Until tomorrow, be blessed and stay safe…XO!

Perfect Fit

Happy Monday & welcome to a new week!

Those of you who know me know that I don’t usually wear body hugging or shape showing clothes, lol. However as I’m getting older and learning to appreciate my curvy body more, I’m embracing certain looks. So when I was browsing my mom’s closet ;-) I found this AMAZING Karen Kane dress. With her permission, of course, I grabbed it and immediately starting figuring out how to style it!

I decided to wear my side cross necklace that I purchased from eBay and my thrifted black booties. I wanted to go for simple jewelry and shoes since the dress already has such a bold pattern.

Seeing the pics after they were taken made me realize that wearing dresses like this definitely accentuate my figure. I also love the way I feel in the dress, which is the most important factor. I just hope my mom lets me borrow this dress more than just this one time…;-)

Until next time, take care and be blessed!

Thrifty (Fall) Florals

With the weather changing and temperatures dropping, my wardrobe is beginning to consist of sweaters, jackets and scarves!

Today I woke up at 6 a.m. and realized I forgot to lay out my clothes. I usually lay out what I’m going to wear the night before but lately, I’ve been slacking. So I rummaged through my closet and pulled out this floral sweater. I think I’ve worn this sweater once but as soon as I saw it this morning, I wondered why I didn’t wear it more? It’s super comfy and very soft so it’s safe to say this sweater will be apart of this seasons wardrobe for sure!

{The Details}

When I think of florals, I instantly think of Spring or Summer. Don’t you? Well, I’ve seen some cute fall floral looks out there and it’s inspired me to go on a hunt for more. Even if its something as subtle as a floral watch or a pair of earrings, I’m going to try and incorporate more “pretty” patterns like florals in my fall/winter wardrobe. Some examples of how you can do the same are below.

So what do YOU think of fall florals? Are you in? Let me know ;-) Until next time, take care and be blessed!
