Personal Style | Styling Fall Florals

I love wearing florals all season so when thinking about fall fashion, I couldn’t wait to put together an outfit including fall florals! Today’s outfit is the perfect “work to after work event” outfit. That’s exactly where I plan to wear it this week; a networking event. Not only is the outfit comfortable, but it’s polished enough to wear in a room full of creative business women and men. The red lip is even OK because I the matte finish and deeper tone makes the red appropriate for a this event.

Sweater: Micheal Kors, Macy’s (Another Stylish Options) / Pants: Ralph Laruen, Lord & Taylor (Another Cute Option) // Flats: Micheal Kors, Nordstrom Rack

The pants, a purchase for our North Carolina road-trip this summer, were an no brainer for me. The cotton and stretch material makes them super comfortable and practical for everyday wear. I’ve been able to style these pants for several occasions. The pants are also perfect to wear during all 4 seasons.

Florals are a definite wardrobe must have this season. #wnjstyle

Big comfy sweaters are “my thing” when the temperatures drop, so adding this Micheal Kors cowl neck was a must. This sweater, a few years old, is so warm and still in style. It’s easily a garment that can be styled casually or for a bit more polished look, like this one.

Guest Blogger | What to Wear to a Summer Blog Conference

Blogging conferences bring about so much excitement! While they can be so much fun, the conferences are truly educational, offer opportunities to network, help you develop your business and usually provide you with plan of action. As with any other activity related to your blogging business, the way that you present yourself at a conference is important. While attending, you are your brand, every day, every minute of the conference. Be prepared to represent your brand very well. You want to be taken seriously.

Once you register and plan your traveling, it’s time to pack for a stylish, professional, oh so cute, and comfortable experience. But….HOW? Most conferences are Thursday-Sunday so this snapshot should take you through those few days. Here’s a sample agenda and a visual (celebrity inspired) for What to Wear to a Summer Blog Conference.

*Author’s Note: I recommend substituting shoes that are pictured, for comfortable flats sandals/shoes to suit your walking needs.*

Thursday and Sunday Travel – Boyfriend jeans and tee with a little layering for the cool flight or train ride.

Thursday Night Networking Event – Fun jumpsuit; jazz it up and impress. First impressions are lasting ones.

Friday workshops – Nice pants & blouse. You can layer with a cardigan/light blazer for those cool conference rooms.

Friday Night Networking & Fun – Fun summer dress; time to show off & grab cocktails!

Saturday Workshops – Stylish dress or skirt. Show your personality and style; add cardigan/light blazer for layering.

Personal Style | Easter in Dress Barn + a Style Linkup

Hello there, friends! I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. I spent most of mine spring cleaning and hanging with family. After heading to church for an amazing Easter service, hubby and I went for a walk around our neighborhood. We met my family for dinner around 4, then headed back home to watch Black Girls Rock. Did you catch the show on BET? Talk about inspirational!

Moving onto today’s outfit, I must give a shout out to my “Easter Outfit”. I mean this Dress Barn dress has been hanging in my closet for months. It’s about 2 years old and I purchased it while in Delaware at the Dress Barn outlet. I was searching for work clothes and hubby liked the color and style of the dress. Reluctant to even stop in the store, I finally agreed to try it on. Needless to say, I loved it! The fit was perfection, the color was indeed gorgeous, and the material was forgiving.

I’ve worn the dress a few times to work (here) and church, but it ended up getting lost in my closet. Thanks to my spring cleaning this weekend, I found it and rekindled my affection for this pretty frock. I knew it’d be perfect for Easter and adding my floral flats was the icing on the cake. I could have worn my nude heels, but I decided to add a some color. I love a good floral print, so the flats were a must!
