#5Truths | 5 Must Visit Restaurants in Columbia, MD

This summer I promised to get out and explore Columbia, MD. Of course this means visiting the best restaurants the county has to offer. Well, I’ve been doing just that and today I want to share the 5 must visit restaurants in Columbia, MD. I know some of you may not reside in Columbia, or even the DMV. But if you find yourself in the area this summer, definitely check out these 5 hot spots for a good meal!

Resturants in Columbia, MD

1. Sushi Nari. This sushi resturant is located in Kings Contrivence shopping center and lucky for us, it’s in walking distance from our apartment! Their edamame and cinnamon tea is divine and the prices are very reasonable. My favorite roll is the Creamy Crab Lover and the Smoking Philly. It’s a small and quaint Resturant with friendly workers. If you don’t want to dine in, call in your order for takeout! I think hubby and I eat here at least twice a month!

2. Cheeburger Cheeburger. If you’re in the mood for a burger and an amazing shake, head to Cheeburger Cheeburger. This is the perfect place for late night burger runs and they’re fried pickles are the best! You can also order online to takeout and at certain locations, they deliver.

3. El Azteca (Clarksville). My mom and little sister put me and hubby on to this authentic Mexican Resturant. We recently at here for date night and the chicken quesadillas and fresh guacamole hit the spot! The price points are great and I really appreciate the family-like environment.

4. The Melting Pot. I’ve been dying to try this place since moving to Columbia and on little sis’ 13th birthday, I finally got my chance! The experience was SO much fun and the food, delicious. It’s a place for couples and families; the experience of cooking and dipping your own entrees is more fun when you’re with a group. The meals can be more in the pricey side, but it’s the perfect location/experience for a party or gathering!

5. Stanford Grill. I LOVE this place! They have the best salmon, Mac n Cheese and the bread pudding is to die for. It’s another great resturant for date night, couples night, or even a family get together. I’ve been dining here for years and I haven’t been disappointed once. The price points are higher, but trust me when I say it’s worth every penny. If you want splurge and treat yourself to a good meal, head to Standford Grill. You’ll thank me later.

Happy & Healthy Lifestyle Challenge – 5 Healthy Foods to Eat Daily

Hey there! Today I’m sharing (my) 5 healthy foods to eat daily. These choices are just a few options that I enjoy throughout the day. I’ve come up with a few different ways to incorporate these 5 foods into my daily meals so, let’s jump right in!


1. Something Green. I love vegetables so this is not an issue for me. I’ve been eating 2-3 salads a week (for lunch or dinner) or I opt to get my veggies in early and add them to my breakfast. I may add some spinach with my egg whites or have a side of broccoli to go with my hard boiled eggs.

2. Instant Quaker Oatmeal. Since I was a kid, oatmeal has been one of my favorite breakfast items. Quaker Instant Oatmeal is a quick and easy breakfast when I’m at work. I prefer the raisin and dates or the apple and cinnamon mix. 

3. Egg Whites or Hard Boiled Eggs. Fixing egg whites is easy to do at work as well. I try to do an egg white omelette with some veggies a few times a week. I also like hard boiled eggs for breakfast. They’re another quick and easy fix for breakfast on the go!



4. Salmon Fillets (Frozen or Fresh). Hubby laughs at me because I can eat chicken and fish 7 days a week, lol! Salmon is my favorite fish and I’ve found so many salmon recipes online! I’ve tried a few and I can’t wait to try more. For me, salmon is great for any meal. I’ve done salmon and eggs,  salmon salads, salmon pasta…you name it, I’ve done it or I’m thinking about doing it, lol! 😉

5. Lemons & Cucumbers. As a water drinker, it’s always fun to add things to my water. Lemon and cucumbers add an instant refreshing quality to my water. I also eat cucumbers in salads or by themselves. I’ve also used lemon a lot for cooking or seasoning these past few weeks. Very good!

**Bouns** 6. Fruit. On Sunday’s I cut up several fruits and store them in containers. I’ll mix some together like grapes, cantaloupe and strawberries and put them in plastic containers. During the week, they’re readily accessible for breakfast, lunch or dessert.

1. My Hervé Bernard Wrap: I purchased this warm and cozy wrap from 2nd Avenue in Laurel, Maryland and I’ve been wearing it for 5 days straight. Obsessed much? LOL…;-)

2. Part II, On the Run: This song has been playing in my car, home, etc. all week and I cannot stop listening. I think it’s the old school vibes I get from the song – the beat is sick! It could also be the passionate and semi-raw  lyrics mixed with Beyonce’s breathy delivery. Whenever these two (Beyonce & Jay Z) do a collaboration, I’m usually hooked. Case in point, Part II, On the Run (Magna Carta Holy Grail). 


3. Foodie Boards & Pins: I’ve been on a food pinning spree! My foodie board on Pinterest has been popping, lol! I’ve fixed 2 recipes this week from the pins I’ve found. I mean does this salmon not look DELICIOUS?! This is the picture I pinned and used as inspiration for Tuesday nights dinner. It was a success – hubby and I both cleaned our plates!
