Change…

Happy Wednesday—we’re halfway thru the week! I hope everyone is doing well.

In today’s post, I want to talk about change. Let me first say that I’ve been thinking about life and topics other than clothes recently so, I hope you don’t mind me veering off the fashion path for a few posts. We all have those moments, right? Anyway…. I’m the type of person who likes order and routine. I like to know what’s going on, what’s going to happen next, and what  I’m supposed to do if it doesn’t go right. LOL, yes…a bit of control freak syndrome going on, huh? Well here lately I’ve been learning to embrace change and roll with the punches. Life isn’t perfect. Things happen. It’s how you handle it all is what really matters.

In the spirit of embracing change, I’ve also become more apt to trying new things. Be it food, a certain TV show, fashion trends and even my hairchanging things up a bit can be fun! What are some new things that you’ve tried lately? What do you do to get yourself out of a rut? Let me know!

Enjoy today’s outfit and enjoy your day. Until next time, be blessed!

Girl in the Green Dress

Happy Friday, friends! I’m going to keep it short and sweet today and just share with you a few looks in what has become my “go to dress”. I’ve worn this dress with flats, sandals, and now heels. It’s the perfect dress to dress up or down, and it’s a great dress for curvy girls. It just falls so nicely. The cutesy polka dot shoes are comfortable and fun and the strap on the shoe makes these heels very easy to walk in!

I hope you enjoy the outfit and enjoy your weekend. If you’re in the DC area and you’re looking for a GREAT shopping event, check the link HERE. I’ll be selling some of my vintage items and there will be several other wonderful vendors as well. I hope to see you there. Be blessed!

My Mother’s Closet

So by now you’ve probably guessed that a lot of my outfits are courtesy of my Mother. I’m not ashamed to admit that one of my favorite places to “shop” is her closet LOL! She has such great taste and style that it’s hard not to take a peek sometimes. Whenever I need a figure flattering dress or some amazing accessories, that’s my first stop. This amazing, colorful and bold dress is yet another gem form Mom’s closet.

While she and I are shaped differently, we can often wear similar sizes, give or take a few inches. The way something fits her will look different on me, and vice versa. I must say that shopping her closet has allowed me to become more comfortable with my shape/size. She’s a fan of showing and flaunting your curves, in a tasteful way. This dress is no different. It’s almost a perfect fit, and the colors are just brilliant! It’s an outfit I piece I can wear to work, date night, as well as a special occasion.

The shoes and accessories are mine. I felt they were the perfect touches to complete my look. Although the shoes are high, they’re super comfortable because of the platform sole. These beauties were only $19.99 so of course, I couldn’t pass up such a sweet deal. I honestly don’t wear a lot of heels but lately I’ve been finding some amazingly comfortable (and cute) pairs. Maybe the shoe gods are trying to tell me something, huh? ;-)

I hope you enjoy the photos! I had a great time taking them. Blogging is so much more fun with a great camera, right?? ;-) Take care and be blessed!

Perfect for a Rainy Day

Hey, darlings! These past few days have been super dreary and rainy and on days like that, I hate thinking about what to wear. Because I knew I was going to spend some time with the boo, I wanted to look 1/2 way decent, lol! So I figured an over-sized sweater, a dash of leopard print, and putting my hair up would do the trick.;-)

I’ve had this leopard wrap for ages and it’s SO perfect for me because as I’ve mentioned before, I don’t always like wearing heavy jackets/coats. I also wore another favorite item which is the tan Micheal Kors sweater. It’s so cozy, soft and the cow-neck collar is the best.

My jewelry, jeggings and shoes were all thrifted! I’ve actually never worn these shoes on the blog. I found them at 2nd Avenue (Columbia, MD) for about $5. I looked at the bottom of the shoes before deciding to purchase them and they weren’t even touched! There they were…never worn Nine West flats for $5. Score!! ;-)

Enjoy the pics. Be blessed…XO!
