Hey there! I hope you’re all doing well. I’m still coming down from a wonderful weekend, so I’m feeling pretty good for a Monday. I want to jump right in and talk about why you should invest in statement jewelry. Let’s chat, shall we?
1. Stand out. Investing in and wearing statement jewelry is a sure way to stand out and make a fashion statement. There’s nothing wrong with following trends and wanting to emulate some popular styles. But adding a unique statement piece will help set your outfit apart.
2. Add the WOW factor. Do you have a few outfits in our closet you aren’t wearing because you feel like it screams, “Blah”? I guarantee that if you add one statement piece, you’ll see the same outfit in a different light. Adding one piece can instantly take something like a plain denim button up shirt and a pair of slacks to another level.
3. Express your Personal Style. I enjoy wearing statement jewelry because it’s a way for me to express my personal style. On days when I feel like wearing something simple, throwing on a unique thrifted ring or an interesting cuff with a pair of vintage earrings makes the outfit my own. Little touches like that go a long way when is comes to personal style.
So tell me, are you a fan of statement jewelry? What are some of your favorite statement pieces to date? Let me know!
Thanks for reading and until tomorrow, be blessed and stay safe…XO!

I wore my first colorful statement earrings in the post I just shared in the link up. They were actually missing hooks so I had to transfer some hooks from broken earrings (also thrifted) and place them on the ones worn in the post- recycling hooks 🙂 I love your ideas of how statement pieces add more umph to a wardrobe. I like your necklaces. Rachel xo

I saw that when I went to your blog – LOVE them, as well as the entire look. Way to DIY and replace the hooks! 😉

I used to hate big chunky jewelry then I started blogging 🙂 Now the bigger the better especially when I’m wearing a casual outfit!

I LOVE statement necklaces. You are so right about adding that extra touch to an outfit. My only thing is that while I appreciate their added impact, I am always on the hunt for less expensive placs to buy them. I am a thrifter, or cheap as my hubby says, but I am not really happy about spending too much on anything. So, if you have any ideas, places, websites etc. that offer these types of pieces at a very reasonable price ($10-20), then I am there! Great post as usual.
Whitney says
I feel ya, Ayana. I’m actually working on a post that features some places to shop for inexpensive statement pieces. I’l be sure to let you know when I post it! (It’ll be very soon) 🙂
ADA says
I couldn’t agree with you more, Whitney. Statement jewelry elevates an outfit. This year alone I’ve added at least 15 statement necklaces and I’m wearing one in today’s post that I linked up, too. Love your EBay & Vintage peces. They are great. =)

Yes, ma’am! In completely with you. I feel like I came into my personal style when I learned how to accessorize, and how to edit those accessories for a great balance and a look that’s not overdone. My rule is one statement piece per outfit.

Interesting topic! You look beautiful in all cases, and your choices are fabulous. I’m growing more cautious about statement pieces these days … I’ve got a drawer full that are starting to look a bit dated now. Great pieces remain great pieces, though, and quality is what makes the difference, I think. I’m not even sure if price is a determinate … there are some very nice pieces that cost very little. I’m liking a more minimal approach these days, at least in theory. There’s a fine line between miminal and plain old dull, and I’m not sure I have the hang of it.
And since I’ve cut my hair, I suddenly crave earrings, but have a hard time chooseing as I get in overload with all the options! Time to take stock, get organized and figure out what I need specifically.
Like with statement necklaces, it’s a challenge!
Whitney says
Thank you, Jan! I agree about the fine line btwn minimal and dull. I’m still trying to figure that out too, lol. Thanks for stopping by!
Gabrielle Henderson says
I’ve been trying so hard to get into the habit of wearing more jewelry. I tend to favor earrings over necklaces but I loved all your choices, especially the ebay one. I love when you can find something cute and for a good deal. Thanks for the inspiration.
