Personal Style | Why You Should Invest in Statement Jewelry

June 16, 2014 by Whitney 59 Comments

Hey there! I hope you’re all doing well. I’m still coming down from a wonderful weekend, so I’m feeling pretty good for a Monday. I want to jump right in and talk about why you should invest in statement jewelry. Let’s chat, shall we?

statement-jewelry

1. Stand out. Investing in and wearing statement jewelry is a sure way to stand out and make a fashion statement. There’s nothing wrong with following trends and wanting to emulate some popular styles. But adding a unique statement piece will help set your outfit apart.

2. Add the WOW factor. Do you have a few outfits in our closet you aren’t wearing because you feel like it screams, “Blah”? I guarantee that if you add one statement piece, you’ll see the same outfit in a different light. Adding one piece can instantly take something like a plain denim button up shirt and a pair of slacks to another level.

3. Express your Personal Style. I enjoy wearing statement jewelry because it’s a way for me to express my personal style. On days when I feel like wearing something simple, throwing on a unique thrifted ring or an interesting cuff  with a pair of vintage earrings makes the outfit my own. Little touches like that go a long way when is comes to personal style.

So tell me, are you a fan of statement jewelry? What are some of your favorite statement pieces to date? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and until tomorrow, be blessed and stay safe…XO!

I wore my first colorful statement earrings in the post I just shared in the link up. They were actually missing hooks so I had to transfer some hooks from broken earrings (also thrifted) and place them on the ones worn in the post- recycling hooks 🙂 I love your ideas of how statement pieces add more umph to a wardrobe. I like your necklaces. Rachel xo

I LOVE statement necklaces. You are so right about adding that extra touch to an outfit. My only thing is that while I appreciate their added impact, I am always on the hunt for less expensive placs to buy them. I am a thrifter, or cheap as my hubby says, but I am not really happy about spending too much on anything. So, if you have any ideas, places, websites etc. that offer these types of pieces at a very reasonable price ($10-20), then I am there! Great post as usual.

I couldn’t agree with you more, Whitney. Statement jewelry elevates an outfit. This year alone I’ve added at least 15 statement necklaces and I’m wearing one in today’s post that I linked up, too. Love your EBay & Vintage peces. They are great. =)

Interesting topic! You look beautiful in all cases, and your choices are fabulous. I’m growing more cautious about statement pieces these days … I’ve got a drawer full that are starting to look a bit dated now. Great pieces remain great pieces, though, and quality is what makes the difference, I think. I’m not even sure if price is a determinate … there are some very nice pieces that cost very little. I’m liking a more minimal approach these days, at least in theory. There’s a fine line between miminal and plain old dull, and I’m not sure I have the hang of it.
And since I’ve cut my hair, I suddenly crave earrings, but have a hard time chooseing as I get in overload with all the options! Time to take stock, get organized and figure out what I need specifically.
Like with statement necklaces, it’s a challenge!
