Personal Style | 3 Reasons Why Fall Fashion Should Include Sweaters and Tunics

October 12, 2015 by Whitney 21 Comments

Happy Monday! The weather this weekend was perfect for sweaters and tunics so of course, I styled both in at least one outfit this weekend. I figured this pairing was perfect for church and afternoon errands. Fall fashion is all about sweaters and tunics. I’m a huge fan of embellished sweaters/cardigans and tunics; so much so that I pretty much wear one or both throughout the entire season! Here are 3 reasons you should include sweaters and tunics into your fall fashion wardrobe.

Styling Sweaters

Sweater: Thrifted, 2nd Avenue // Purse: Nine West, Gifted // Pants: Alfani, Macy’s (Same) // Flats: Sam Edelman, Nordstrom Rack (Another Option)

Fall fashion should include a plethora of sweaters and tunics! #wnjstyle

1. Affordability. Both sweaters and tunics are affordable wardrobe items, but especially sweaters/cardigans. Thrift stores have plenty to pick from and the uniqueness of each sweater/cardigan is great! Shopping for this item at your local thrift store is a great way to save a few coins, as well as add a bit of pizzazz to your personal style.

2. Wearability. When it comes to tunics, you can pretty much wear them for any and every occasion, depending on the style. Stocking up on a plethora of printed and solid tunics is a sure way to expand your wardrobe.

3. Transitional. I can’t get enough of transitional wardrobe items, which is another reason I love sweaters and tunics. You can wear either during all 4 seasons, depending on the material. If you want to stretch your wardrobe, these items are a must have.

I love sweaters! They’re so warm and cozy, and so easy to layer. Love the details on that navy coat!

Beautiful location for your pics. No transitioning going on over here. We’re still in triple digit heat. I strolled through a shopping district on Friday and saw all the sweaters on display in the windows and laughed. The stores are empty because there is simply no need to buy such things. I like the drape of your top. It’s gives the leo print a much softer look.

I need to invest in more tunics and chunky sweaters or cardigans. Love your leopard print tunic, looks so comfortable and versatile.
